Katie was my second great-aunt. She was born July 29, 1884 and died March 15, 1911.
The story goes that she let someone who was a barber due her hair prior to the shooting of this portrait and she was very unhappy with the result.
Her cause of death listed as Pulmonary Tuberculosis at age 26. She worked in a chenille factory & the cause of her death could have been due to inhaled fibers.
