Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears relationship ended abruptly after allegations of Britney being unfaithful with a choreographer and mutual friend of Timberlake and Spears. It has been said that Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" from Timberlake's album Justified was influenced by their break up. Despite their break up Justin Timberlake still has a soft spot for Spears and has wished her the best through her difficult times. Timberlake's Mom is also still fond of Spears and has said that "She is a sweet girl. I just hate what she is going through now."

In April 2003 Justin Timberlake met Cameron Diaz at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Timberlake and Diaz started dating shortly after that. There were many rumours about Timberlake and Diaz breaking up which were denied. On January 11, 2007 Diaz and Timberlake issued a joint statement. "It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media. We have in fact ended our romantic relationship and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another."

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were photographed snowboarding together in Utah in January 2007. Rumours began to fly about Timberlake and Biel. Shortly after that Timberlake and Biel were spotted on several occasions on romantic dates. The tow were caught kissing in the UK.
