Austin is no stranger to the comedy scene. Indeed it is Moontower Comedy Festival takes place here every year! Although it usually takes place in Ril, the festival couldn’t take place in 2020 or 2021 at this time. But it made a triumphant return in September with four days, 10 venues, and over 100 comedians.

Here’s something to really look forward to in 2022! Moontower Comedy Festival is partnering with Just For Laughs of Canada to create the largest comedy festival in the United States. The festival will not only take place again in ril 2022, but it will be extended to 10 days!

Not only at the festival time can you experience a world-famous comedian here in the ATX. It’s no secret that Californians keep moving to Texas, and that includes some of the funniest comedians.

Here are five comedians who now call Austin home.

1 | Joe Rogan

Let’s start with the first person that comes to most people’s minds as the comments on our Instagram and TikTok accounts show.

During the pandemic, Joe Rogan announced to the world through his infamous podcast that he was moving to Austin. Despite having lived in Southern California for over a decade, he doesn’t shy away from why he moved to Austin. Taxes, gun laws, and a smaller population are all factors in this podcast star’s move.

Rogan even opened a comedy club at the former location of the A world of theater on the Bienenhöhlenstrasse. The theater is a convenient 10-minute drive from Rogan’s. removed $ 14.4 million mansion in Westlake Hills.

2 | Tony Hinchcliffe

Hinchcliffe, a frequent guest and close friend of Rogan’s, followed his buddy to Austin for the same reasons. Best known for his insulting comedy style and the Kill Tony podcast, Hinchcliffe loves his time in Texas, which included a new obsession with golf. You can see him at local comedy clubs most days of the week still rocking his golf outfit (pants, polo, the whole thing).

3 and 4 | Tom Segura & Christina Pazsitzky

DIFFERENT of Joe Rogan’s comedic friends, Tom Segura and his comedian wife Christina Pazsitzky also moved to Austin with their family. This couple was a huge part of the Moontower Comedy Festival! They played their podcast Your Mom’s House live at Paramount Theater, Segura performed standup in Spanish at Antone’s and alongside Christian James Hand dissected some of the best hip-hop songs in Stubbs.

5 | Ron White

Yes, that Ron White! Known for the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, this writer, actor, and stand-up comedian also lives in beautiful Austin, Texas. Ron White has been a fan of Austin since the early 1970s and now has the pleasure of calling the ATX home.
